Ladies’ Captain Charity for 2009/2010 St.Richards Hospice.

Welcome to the Ladies page of the Worcester Golf and Country Club Website.

The Ladies Section has over 90 lady members covering a spectrum of ages.

We have a very enthusiastic committee, who are committed to maintaining a competitive yet friendly atmosphere. We are also very lucky to have Graham Farr as our Professional, always willing to give help and advice.

Ladies Competition Day is held on Tuesday. The ladies play a wide variety of competitions, Stableford, medals, winter eclectics and for a large number of trophies – these can be singles, pairs, or team events.   In addition to the formal competitions we also have fun competitions, with draw for partners, giving many the opportunity to mix with different ladies across the sections.

Teams are entered in the Scratch League and the Droitwich League, The Mail on Sunday team competition and The Daily Mail Foursomes. Our Ladies play in friendly team matches against other clubs.

Three Opens are organised each year - June Ladies Open, - August Am Am - September Ladies Foursomes.  In, July we have the Ladies Charity Foursomes. They are all very well attended and everyone is welcome.

Mixed Golf

For those members who enjoy playing mixed golf there is plenty on offer.

There are annual matches against the Seniors, Past Captain’s and Juniors. Ladies and Gents Invitations, The Essell Cup and The Amery Cup which is a mixed Open.

Mixed friendly competitions, and friendly matches against other clubs, are played on Sundays.


Additional facilities:

As well as Golf, there are also facilities for playing Tennis, Squash and Snooker.

We have a growing Bridge section both ladies and mixed, experienced and beginners.


Social Calendar

The Social Committee are very active and organise a variety of events throughout the year including  A New Years Eve Dinner and Dance, Burns Night, Summer Ball, Race Nights and theme nights.  

Diane and her staff offer a first class dining facility with superb Sunday Lunches.

We are working hard to encourage new members of all ages - and golfing ability - to join our ladies section.
