January Happy New Year to you all. The bunker renovation programme was completed on time and what a fantastic job Greasley's have done, I have heard nothing but positive comments, it wont be long before they come back into play. How amazing that although the course suffered badly through the lack of rain last year, the course was never closed for a single day or longer. Yes it was closed for a few hours on some days but that was all. So how often are the greens cut during the winter? weather permitting twice a week, Tuesdays and Fridays. As you can appreciate growth is minimal during the winter but they still need cutting. I know many of you are concerned about the fairways escpecially with the lack of rain during last year, worry not, come Spring time they will again be in tip top condition. Don't forget to repair your pitch marks, and please if you happen to have your ball blown into a bunker, please leave it in a condition that you would hope to find it. Enjoy your golf. Peter Tredwell - Club Secretary.
