Welcome to the website of the Ladies Section of Worcester Golf and Country Club and thank you for your interest in our Club.
Our current Lady Captain, Stella Wood, has chosen to support Guide Dogs for the Blind and ‘Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) Fighting Blindness’ this year.
Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is an inherited condition of the eye that leads to loss of vision and blindness, affecting about 1 in 4,000 people. RP Fighting Blindness works hard to stimulate and fund cutting edge research to find a treatment or cure and support those affected. You can learn lots more at www.rpfightingblindness.org.uk
Our Ladies Section has about 95 members, of whom about 60 play friendly and competitive golf on a regular basis on Tuesdays, our Competition Day. It’s all about having some fun and the chance to meet and make new friends. We try hard to be a lovely supportive and welcoming place. We offer a wide range of competitions which include Medals, Stablefords and Pars, along with Winter Foursomes, an Eclectic and a variety of fun formats during the winter. We also have a Scratch Team in the Midlands Scratch League, another team in the Droitwich League and run a good range of inter-Club matches as friendlies, thereby providing good competition across the whole handicap range. We hold Opens for Ladies, Senior Ladies and Mixed competitors plus a variety of other formats which allow us to compete in conjunction with or against our gentlemen members.

Our beautiful parkland course is well managed and is usually playable all year round and we are lucky to have Graham Farr as the Club Professional. Graham and his team offer us support and advice on all matters Golf, and are a vital part of our Taster Ladies Programme for beginners and returners, which aims to provide free lessons with Graham, a limited temporary membership during the summer and mentoring from our members, the object being to get more Ladies playing and hopefully joining our section.
A number of our Ladies also play Bridge and play both informally at the Club and friendly matches against other Clubs. There are beautiful grass and hard tennis courts and squash and racketball.
Hopefully there is something in our Club which does interest you and we hope to hear from you or see you there in the near future.
